About Us
As a passionate independent furniture manufacturer with extensive experience, we can trace our roots back to our Director Ian’s keen interest in upholstery, which started from sketching furniture at college and a love of repairing old things.
After qualifying with City & Guilds, working part-time in a furniture store motivated Ian to set up Holme Upholstery in December 1999 at the age of 23 in a small workshop. From those humble beginnings and after some hard grafting, Ian was rewarded with business growth through recommendations and word of mouth.
Word Spreads
As the business’ reliable reputation for upholstery and furniture restoration and repair grew, so did the need for a bigger workshop. With that need fulfilled, the business expanded, now housed inside a shop with a workshop at the rear, allowing for new bespoke furniture to be manufactured on-site.
Today, we constantly strive for perfection as we craft stunning tailor-made furniture and revamp older pieces using fresh and versatile high-quality fabrics from our trusted stocklists, including The Romo Group, the Linwood Fabric Company Limited and Abraham Moon & Sons Ltd.
